Peace Fighters Emery and Murray have been asked to take part on September 21st on the 'Day of Peace' at the UN plaza at the UN HQ

Peace Fighters Carl Emery (Swiss) and Billy Murray (N,Irish) had final talks (Monday 13th September) in Belfast ahead of their kickboxing demonstration next week on the Day of Peace at the UN HQ Geneva. The International Day of Peace which occurs annually on September 21. It is dedicated to peace, or specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone. It is observed by many nations, political groups, military groups, and people over the world. The first year this holiday was celebrated was 1981.

Belfast’s Billy Murray was in Geneva recently on a whistle-stop tour with Co founder of ‘The Peace Fighters’ Mr Carl Emery to discuss the appearance of the Peace fighters at the International Day of Peace in Geneva on September 21st.



The team will be made up of kickboxers from North and south of Ireland, Switzerland and other countries will take part in a kickboxing demonstration at the Palais Des Nations.



The Peace Fighters were launched at the UNICEF HQ in Switzerland.  Murray and Emery’s Fighting For Peace programme was officially launched in front of an impressive array of diplomats, senior politicians and international press.

The Director of UNICEF, Irish Ambassador, British Ambassador, current and past British consul generals – and topping that the initiative received a personal message from the President of Ireland Mary McAleese. Now the Peace Fighters are setting up for an even bigger day at the UN’s ‘Day of Peace’  -  more on this later….
