The peace Fighters - Carl Emery, Billy Murray, Gary Hamilton and Ken Horan - will all take part in a Martial arts / kickboxing demonstration for the sanctioned UN's 'International Day of Peace' at the Place Des Nations, Geneva.

On the occasion of the UN endorsed International Day of Peace, to be celebrated (TODAY) on 21 September 2010, a boxing ring will be set up at the Place des Nations in Geneva. The PEACEFIGHTERS Association will organise a friendly kickboxing demonstration in the ring between 16.00 and 17.30. Boxers from the diverse communities of Northern Ireland, and more particularly , Emery, Hamilton, Horan and Murray will be performing a kickboxing demonstrations.
The PEACEFIGHTERS Association was formally launched at the UNICEF European HQ in Geneva on 17 April 2008. The launch was welcomed by Ireland’s President, Mrs. Mary McAleese, as well as by members of the diplomatic community, including the British Ambassador to Switzerland and Swiss dignitaries. The PEACEFIGHTERS Association was set up with the aim of promoting peace and respect through sport.
The Association is the brainchild of Carl Emery (Switzerland) and Billy Murray (Northern Ireland), both former World Champions in Kickboxing. It brings together martial arts sportsmen and women from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Switzerland for inter-community sessions and international events (competitions, demonstrations, training sessions, etc). The activities of the PEACEFIGHTERS are focused more particularly on disadvantaged children and youth.
In addition to the Association’s founders, Carl Emery and Billy Murray, world renowned fighters Gary HAMILTON (Belfast, Northern Ireland), professional lightweight kickboxing world champion, and Ken HORAN (Galway – Republic of Ireland), middleweight amateur world champion, will be participating at the demonstration and all four will be carrying out kickboxing demonstrations on the boxing ring at the Place des Nations.
